Castle winter wedding for Max and Calum
We are over the moon to be part of this wedding. We made Max’s wedding dress for this magnificent event at Drumtochty Castle. I am a friend of Calum’s mum and I am so happy to make this wedding dress for Max. Despite many geographical obstacles, it all worked out. Max’s family are all in different States in the US. It was great fun having them online at the fittings and giving their comments on the dress and how it was shaping up.
Beautiful wedding dress
We made Max a bespoke wedding dress. It is based on a boned and structured bodice with an internal lace-up. The skirt is designed with a very neat fit and flare shape and it has a large train. The main fabric is a soft crepe. We added beautiful beaded details that emphasised the plunging sweetheart neckline cut and the straps. The embellishment consisted of both silver embroidery sequins and pears. We also added beaded lace motifs on the train.
We made buttons and loops down the back of the dress. Counting them all, it came to over 100 buttons from the top of the bodice to the hem.
It was a lovely touch that we reworked Max’s mum’s wedding veil. It worked so well with her sharp bob and looked perfect.
The train was a lovely round shape, with different hidden attachments to lift it for the Ceilidh dancing at the reception.
I don’t think I have ever seen a cuter dog; the dog was an honoured guest at the wedding.
The Drumtochty Castle winter wedding offers all you can imagine of a Scottish wedding. The wedding was held on a clear frosty day, and Deeside Photography took beautiful images. They must have been quick to snap up the outdoor portraits as the sun sets so early in the winter in Aberdeenshire.
