So wonderful to work with this bride for a wedding at Edinburgh Castle.
Beautiful ideas for her Scottish wedding in Edinburgh. The wedding was planned for March. This essentially can be a pretty harsh month for any one of her guests visiting from Australia. However everyone was still very keen to come and be part of this amazing day.
The Dress
We made this beautiful wedding dress for Josephine. The material is a georgette. This is semi-sheer and has a matte texture. We backed it with a lovely satin to make it opaque. The dress has big yet soft flowing sleeves with deep cuffs and button details. Josephine didn’t want a train as it was important to her to be able to get around various old parts of Edinburgh for photography and to spend time with her guests and let’s face it, as it is March it would be very high risk of a damp ground which would just make the dress unpleasant.
The Wedding Day
The wedding planned included all the best of Scottish. A wedding at Edinburgh Castle, with the actual ceremony in the Chapel, St Margaret’s chapel. Have you been there? It has the most incredible atmosphere, I think. When you get married at Edinburgh castle you get to go to special places at the castle, where the public is not allowed, and really enjoy this magnificent place.
The guests were then invited to an amazing gourmet wedding breakfast nearby.
The bride and groom took time out to have beautiful photographs taken by Adam Luto Photography around different iconic areas in Edinburgh such as Victoria Street. The day was so misty, but I guess if you come from Australia, that may seem “exotic” I love the atmosphere in the photos.
We were so excited to see the flowers. The brides sister in law is a well-recognised florist Bess Paddington based in Sydney, and she volunteered to do all the flowers for the wedding here in Scotland. She certainly didn’t disappoint, they are gorgeous.
So funny how our lives were similar in some kind of way, she is from Australia, and by sheer coincidence from a tiny place close to where my now husband worked as a Jackaroo when him and I first met in Australia. So wonderful when these things happen.
