An outfit for a fun informal summer wedding in the garden was what Kirsty had plans for when she first came to see us. Kirsty wanted a relaxed outfit and she wanted to wear trousers.
The final result really matched her vision perfectly.
Kirsty had a heavy brocade boned bodice with little buttons down the back and lovely silk crepe trousers. The bodice had a “train” in silk chiffon, which she could take off after the ceremony. Both the train and the bodice had little buttons and so the train could go on, and come off again.
Don’t you love how the chiffon is soft and floaty in contrast to the structured bodice? This contemporary outfit has the elements of a romantic, traditional wedding outfit, but it’s much relaxed and informal.
It was lovely to get to know Kirsty, who managed to fit her fittings in between amazing achievements on the golf course, and we also made a lovely dress for her Bridesmaid, in pale grey and gunmetal lace, and a linen dress in coral for her sister to wear at the wedding.
Kirsty said: “You gave me an outfit I could feel comfortable and relaxed in, on my special day, when I was the centre of attention. You took my vision and turned it into a reality that I believe no one else could have done in the way you did. I felt like a million dollars. I don’t know how you would convey that but that would be my only other thought.”
The lovely photographs taken by Alex Martin Photography, she caught such pretty light, it makes look as if the wedding happened abroad. What a beautiful day you had, in the family garden.
