Antique lace and silk wedding dress
Working with Ana making her antique lace and silk wedding dress last year was such a joy. She married in December, at the lovely venue La Bodega de Parrado on Gran Canaria, where they are both from.
Sharing lots of ideas at our first meeting was amazing. Ana’s has a very sophisticated and clean style. What she wants is a bespoke, plain, simple dress in luxurious materials. She wants to enhance the design with some typical Spanish lace from Valencia.
Wedding Dress has Boat Neckline on her wedding dress and a Deep V-Neck at the back. The Dress has 3/4 length sleeves.
Both the back neckline and the sleeves are decorated with hand made lace.
Ana has family in Valencia. She went to a very special shop called Merceria Rosa Tómas and bought the perfect Spanish lace for her dress, you can follow this amazing shop on facebook.
We finished it with buttons down the back and a big train.
Making the dress for Ana was much fun. Her family was there on facetime as we did the fittings, and they even managed a visit to Freja Designer Dressmaking.
We love that light and what about that beautiful old wedding car a Wolseley 690.
