Emerald green wedding dress was Eimear’s bold choice, and we loved working on it. We’ve worked with brides from Edinburgh, all over the UK and beyond to create beautiful coloured wedding gowns.
The traditional wedding dress shops rarely stock wedding dresses other than ivory, cream, white or perhaps champagne, if you are lucky. But we make quite a few bespoke coloured dresses, and we LOVE it. When you are considering a coloured wedding dress, you must really think it through. You must take into consideration there may be some people finding it strange. So deal with that in your head before deciding. There may also be that bit of you thinking “this is my one time I can wear a traditional white-ivory dress, should I let go of this opportunity?”. Only once you have gone over all of that it’s time to make a decision.
Eimear carefully went over the big decision it was to go green. She carefully considered her accessories and flowers and other colours at the wedding. She thought of how it would all tie together, and didn’t she do well? Emerald green is such a striking colour for a wedding dress, it suits so many people. It is definitely one of our favourite bold colours to work with. You don’t have to go for a pure green dress either, we have done accents of green and white dresses previously.
I absolutely love the look she pulled together. We made her an emerald green wedding dress in pure silk satin. There were lots and lots of silk in that dress. She had a V-neck front and low back. The Waist area was embellished by hand with beaded lace. She had a belt of silk satin attached on the waist to make the pull it all in. She had a full train which could pull up for the evenings dancing.
The wedding took place at the beautiful Byre at Inchyra. We have been involved in a few weddings there. We actually made the dress for the very first wedding held there. Rebekah Mcvitie did the makeup, we are such great fans of her work.
Thank you so much to Mihaela Bodlovic for taking the amazing pictures. They are perfect!
