Our Bride Anna definitely had a lot of uncertainty with her wedding date. Anna and her fiance David had their wedding date changed a total of 5 times. This was due to both coronavirus and visa restrictions as the couple was moving from America to Scotland. The wedding took the form of a micro wedding at Windsor Great Hall on November 21st. Although not how they originally though their wedding day would be, the day was still as special as ever.
A chandelier on loan from the Queen and official portraits of monarchs decorated the venue. This was enough to make anyone feel like royalty.
As a result of the restrictions, the couple could not have a typical reception. Instead they decided to visit the Waddeson Manor Christmas Markets the night before the wedding alongside the grooms family. After the wedding ceremony, they all headed over to their local pub, ‘The hit or Miss’. The bride says the staff were outstanding. They took the remaining flowers left from the cake and created centre pieces for the party and hung lights for them. They really went above and beyond to make the day as special as possible.
Travel restrictions meant the brides family were unable to make the event. In result, the couple chose to livestream the event so that Anna’s family in America could be there in some way. She even chose to bring part of her family with her by wearing her grans vail down the aisle.
Anna’s green and white flower bouquet was created by Linda Janes Florist and inspired by that of The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton and Princess Eugenie’s. This further linked with the idea of royalty. The cake was even based on that of the Duchess of Sussex and Meghan Markle’s wedding cakes.
All About the Bride
As their was a limitation on guests, Anna dressed herself on the day but had her sisters-in-law come over when she was ready to assist with any last minute things. The brides hair and makeup were done by sister duo hairbyashah and glamwithmaryam who both made the bride feel so comfortable and eliminated her nerves at her micro wedding at Windsor Great Hall.
Anna walked the aisle in a beautiful cream crisp silk above the knee dress with boning and a zip back. The garment had a cross over sweetheart neckline and back decorated with rouching. The brides most requested feature in the gown was the large puff sleeves embellished with cream silk bows on the shoulders. The dress draped around to the side enhancing the brides small waste. The train of the gown wrapped around the brides waist and was easily detachable.
