Soft Blue Wedding Dress with embellishment was Joanne’s vision for her wedding dress. The beautiful wedding was held at Manderston House in Duns
The wedding ceremony is taking place underneath the big copper beech tree on the beautiful grounds.
That dress
Jo has a real vision for flowers and decorations. We had to make the dress to match. We made the dress in the soft duck egg blue rough Orissa silk. The skirt is a full circle with pleats where it joins the bodice. The bodice has structure and boning. The bodice has an internal lace-up as well as buttons and loops made in the silk fabric. For the chest area and sleeves, we used a soft mesh. The soft mesh has hand embellishment all over in this beautiful silver sequinned lace. The embellishment we make from one piece of lace. We cut all the motifs out of the lace. Then pin the motifs on the dress. Then send pictures to Jo to ask her to approve the placements. Finally stitched them down by hand. Look at the little video and step by step photos of how we did it.
The dress has a big train which is held out with a stiff tulle bustle. The dress also has a soft netting detachable bustle with silver scallop edges. For the evening the detachable train comes off. We have a hidden netting Velcro train. This comes out too. And the silk dress train can bustle up in a French bustle. This will allow Jo to dance and move freely.
It has been a real pleasure making such a beautiful dress. We love the pairing of the soft colour flowers from The Flower Room in Kelso
We love Charlotte MacGregor Photography’s lovely photographs.
