Boathouse micro wedding, Archerfield
The lovely Catriona came to see us with ideas from different dresses she had tried on. The features she loved was a big floaty skirt with a train. Soft lace overlay on the bodice and sleeves. And she really wanted pearl buttons.
After meeting and discussing the options and looking at lots of stunning lace. We narrowed it down to a full circle skirt and a particular lace for the bodice.
We made a template for her bespoke dress. Catriona came alone to the meetings and fittings as due to the lockdown her parents in East Lothian were not able to attend. We had fun face-timing them from the fittings, and they were part of the process after all.
Then another lockdown. Catriona and her husband to be had already had the talk that no matter what the restrictions were, they wanted to get their Boathouse Micro wedding on the date they had said. As soon as we were allowed to open again end of April Catriona came for a fitting.
The dress was just stunning on her, and even at the early stages, we could see everything was just right. For the neckline and belt effect, we handwork the lace. We cut out the motifs and hand-stitched them on.
Catriona’s lovely flowers were from Save the date Collective.
