With the start of a new year comes new bridal trends for 2022. We love customising designs to suit your personality. But if you want to incorporate your own style with the latest trends then here are some ideas for your dress on your special day.
The Minimalist Bride
With covid-19 having affected everyone’s lives the past two years it is apparent it will continue to change the way we live. Stripped back ceremonies and receptions were forced upon many brides. But for others, the small intimate wedding may be just what they want. With the stress of covid still surrounding many minds having a more intimate wedding is a perfect option. To match the more relaxed wedding, more relaxed styles were seen in 2021. With shorter dresses, jumpsuits and trousers being worn by many. This trend is expected to continue into 2022. Shorter dresses are one way to go, the more casual style can be perfect to dance the night away with your closest friends and family. Are you more of a trouser wearer in your everyday life? A jumpsuit or trouser suit combination is a perfect option for comfort and style.

The Colourful Bride
With weddings becoming less traditional, brides are choosing the less traditional route for their dresses too. Adding colour to your dress is a trend for 2022 we can 100% get on board with. We know how hard it is to find colourful dresses at a typical wedding dress designer. But as we make bespoke dresses here at Freja Designer Dressmaking, we can fully customise your dress to be as colourful as you want. One way you could follow the trend is by using colourful trim. Or go very untraditional and wear a dress in a colour other than white.

Pearlcore
Pinterest predicts produced a report on their predicted trends for 2022. This included ‘pearlcore’. With ‘pearl wedding decorations’ being a trending search and having increased search data by 185%. This trend can be incorporated in a more traditional way such as through jewellery or on the dress itself. Pictured below are some pieces from the gorgeous jewellery designer Rene Walrus, @tiaratrash on Instagram. We have some of her pieces in our store you can look at and purchase. Pearls could also be incorporated through beading being added as a trim on the dress. Waistbands with pearls can add that extra bit of glam whilst still looking sophisticated.

Celestial Celebrations
Celestial Celebrations is another trend Pinterest predicts. With moon wedding dress having increased searches by 180%. Having a moon themed wedding with the dress to match is a perfect way to embody this trend. Fabrics with moons and stars embroidered into the dress being used, giving the dress a heavenly effect. You could also follow this trend through accessories. Once again @tiaritrash has some beautiful celestial-inspired pieces. We have not had the chance to do a moon inspired wedding dress yet but this could be the year!
