Wedding in Tivoli Copenhagen

1950es style dress

Wedding in Tivoli Copenhagen A dream come true for me when we got to make Rachel’s bespoke wedding dress. The bride and groom love Denmark and Copenhagen, so the wedding was planned to be held in Tivoli Gardens.  Rachel had no idea I am Danish, and in love with Tivoli Gardens. Too many coincidences… and it felt just right we should make Rachels dress. The dress was to be inspired by the 1950es style wedding dress. I am a total fan of Dior’s New Look and that whole era, so I was very excited about it all. Rachel chose a…

Pink Wedding Dress for Florence

Pink Wedding Dress Pink, Weddings and Florence, I think they are 3 of my favourite things! So an initial visit from Gillian, telling us about plans of a beautifully intimate wedding in Florence with a Pink very lightweight dress to wear in the heat, we were in heaven. Gillian had me in stitches immediately, her boss had sent her to see me. Gillian and Steve had the whole wedding planned apart from the dress. Gillian’s colleagues had had enough of listening to her about this missing dress. We were so happy to offer our help to Gillian. We really enjoyed…

Fuschia, Pink, White Wedding Dress

Fuschia, Pink, White Wedding Dress Kacii wanted a dress with pinks and whites, sparkles and bows. We delivered! Making a dress like this is a bit of a challenge. It started off as a fishtail dress silhouette, made from a boned and structured polyester Duchesse satin dress. Once we had the shape perfected we started adding all the tulle pieces. I have no idea how many pieces we made but in the region of 30 meters of 1.5-meter wide tulle in the 3 colours Fuschia, pink and white,  cut into pieces was added to the skirt in the 3 colours….

Waterfall Wedding Dress

Waterfall Wedding Dress, in the making. Carol sharing what great times she and her husband-to-be had enjoyed in Norway. The engagement even happened at Kjossfossen Waterfall. They share a love of the Fjords and the water in all its aspects. Carol wanted me to incorporate this in her bespoke Waterfall Wedding dress. This is exciting! Choosing the soft pale blue-green silk became the base of the dress. Then sequined and silk embroidered tulle overlay was picked for the overlay of the bodice. Then fine pure silk chiffon with cascades overlaying the skirt. And a deep deep fake cowl neck at…

French – Irish Wedding

French – Irish wedding Uniting families, people, and countries, how beautiful! For us, it started with a lovely request from Marion. She wanted a soft wedding dress for Wedding in Chalet de la Serra, Lamoura, France. She wanted it soft, romantic, not too hot to wear. Easy to wear is the most important requirement for this wedding dress. Marion selected some stunning silks for her bespoke wedding dress. For lightness, she picked a silk satin chiffon, and for texture, she chose a lovely corded lace. We cut the lace by hand and attached on the dress. The lace decorated the…

Magenta Wedding Dress

magenta wedding dress

Magenta Wedding Dress Magenta was the colour choice for Kirsten’s bespoke wedding dress. She wanted an exclusive and special dress she could wear for the wedding, and for events afterwards. Kirsten runs her own art business and has such an eye for colours and textures. It was lovely working with her and experiencing her expertise. I fully feel we met the brief. I love the textured Doupion silk with the soft Vintage style lace overlay. The lace is really fine and we have hand-finished all the edges. But cutting out all the different patterns in the edging and overlay them…

Spanish lace, silk wedding dress

Antique lace and silk wedding dress

Antique lace and silk wedding dress Working with Ana making her antique lace and silk wedding dress last year was such a joy. She married in December, at the lovely venue La Bodega de Parrado on Gran Canaria, where they are both from. Sharing lots of ideas at our first meeting was amazing. Ana’s has a very sophisticated and clean style. What she wants is a bespoke, plain, simple dress in luxurious materials. She wants to enhance the design with some typical Spanish lace from Valencia. Wedding Dress has Boat Neckline on her wedding dress and a Deep V-Neck at…

Stunning Silk Zibeline dress

We created A stunning silk Zibeline Wedding dress. The dress really suited the stunning bride. We made a Bridesmaids dress for the bride’s daughter too. The 2 dresses had similar detailing. The fully bespoke wedding dress had a boat neckline and low back and a crystal belt. The dress had covered buttons all the way down the back over the long full train. The stunning silk zibeline dress hung beautifully and suited the wintery feel. The Bridesmaid had a crystal belt and lace back detail on her wine-colored bridesmaid’s dress. The bridesmaid dress had a lace back achieved with a…

Cream silk wedding dress

Cream silk dress and green chiffon changeant jacket What an amazing day Louise and Andy had planned for a large group of friends and family at the GG’s yard. GG’s yard has the most incredible venue by the Solway Firth. Louise was so lovely to work with, she chose a skirt from one of our collection dresses and then added a different top and a different belt. After we got on with her cream silk wedding dress, the reality of Scottish weather hit home for Louise.  She decided for a little jacket in shot silk chiffon. With the greenery of…

Sunday afternoon Photoshoot

Sunday afternoon Photoshoot came about at really short notice. We are all super busy people. Sunday afternoon is precious. But sometimes, we decide to play. This was such a day. Duncan Holmes Photography came to Edinburgh and hired out the Meow Photography studios. Lynne was modeling for us and Sarah Ann Mitchell did hair and makeup. We had just a few days before made 2 new dresses for our collection, it was nice to see them on a body. The first dress is a silk burn-out, or also called a devore. I love that, but it has not been much on…
