Gorgous girls at the George Hotel

Suzanne has been my friend for many years, and i was delighted when she met Samantha… and over the moon when they got engaged. Both wonderful ladies came to me with their ideas, and pretty much everyone i know, who know either Suzanne or Samantha was nagging me endlessly about what they were going to wear. It was a big responsibility being the only person who knew what they were both wearing and and to coordinate it all so it came together.. i am really proud that it did. Both ladies looked gorgeous on the day, i was proud to…

Chiffon Circle skirt and lace for pretty summer wedding

Hannah came with our business recommended from more than one person.. how nice! She stays in London so she came to see me first time over her Christmas visit to her parents’ home in Edinburgh. Hannah had different ideas which we discussed, with a bit of sketching up done, and some draping up fabrics on a tailors dummy, Hannah had an idea of the dress she would like. We then made the Calico Toile. A trial version of her dress in sheet fabric. Her dress was made in a lovely corded lace and a full circle polyester chiffon skirt and…

TeePee’s on the Argyll coast

Despite Amy living as far away as Kenya, she still asked us to make her wedding dress for her Argyll coast wedding. We were so happy to help. Amy went for a very exquisite lace, backed with a soft fine satin, deep V-neck and fine buttons, she was very sure her wedding style should be soft, romantic, summery and non fussy. We feel we achieved a gorgeous look for Amy. The dress was made when Amy visited her Parents at Easter time. Amy’s mum Fiona is a talented florist Fiona Cumming Floristry and she was much involved in the styling of…

Edinburgh Summer Wedding with Chantilly lace and Chinese silk organza

Elisabeth was another bride who came all the way from London to ask us to make her a beautiful dress for her Edinburgh summer wedding. She has been adorable to work with and we achieved making her gorgeous dress with minimum fittings. She went for a circle skirt in fine Chinese silk organza and a very fine Chantilly lace overlay on the bodice. The bodice was boned and had internal lace up and little buttons and loops at the back and a little key hole detail at the neckline. The exquisite fine materials made for a very delicate dress to…

Guipore lace by Loch Lomond

Laura is a total super wedding planner.. she had so so many lovely ideas, some picked from Pinterest and personalised and adapted to her wedding. She had ideas for a slim line lace dress when she came to see me.. she then fell in love with the Guipure lace and we ordered a few larger samples which Laura then chose from. We made a satin dress with light boning and a small train, we attached the lace overlay to that, and made internal lace up and buttons and loops at the back and wide straps which created a diamond shape…

Vintage inspired city wedding at The Dome, Edinburgh

Melody has such a lot of style. She had really good ideas for her soft vintage wedding, and we were desperate to make her dress for her. She went for a soft wedding dress with a soft Chantilly lace for the sleeves and beaded belt which was a gift passed on from her friend. We also made her a veil with a scallop lace edge to finish off her vintage look. Melody made such amazing research to get everything just right, and we were delighted when she got in touch with Kate (also a friend of Freja Designer Dressmaking) the…

Civil Partnership at Tynninghame Beach

Michelle and Jen had a gorgeous wedding at Ravensheugh Log Cabins, at Tynninghame Beach. They hired an additional Highland Tipis to have room for all their guests. They had made all lovely and personal arrangements for their big day, and a good friend Debs, Chef at Under The Stairs, Edinburgh was to cook on a giant BBQ for all their guests. Jen had early on decided she wanted to wear a dress, which she got from a pre-loved website, and set off to Glasgow to buy an Ian Stuart dress,  but Michelle did not want a dress neither the traditional…
