Wedding dress in Satin and Chantilly for Wedding in Greyfriars Kirk

Sam had ideas of a lovely wedding dress which had the deep box pleats on the skirt, the top she was a bit more unsure about, so we experimented with different options and styles.  The one thing she did know was that she would like to be fairly “covered” up. She went for a duchesses satin dress, with a  small train and the deep box pleats. She then had a boned bodice with very pretty fine Chantilly lace over. She had a belt with embellishment on the front and internal lace-up corset and buttons and loops over. Sam had a…

Valentines Wedding in Oran Mor, Glasgow

Leigh had firm ideas of silhouette and style for her wedding dress when she came to visit me back in 2012. She didn’t realise how many types of lace i had to chose from, the one she chose is so pretty, a fairly large pattern with the floral pattern in a very shiny viscose thread. It was a great option for a valentines wedding as the artificial light reflects shadows of the floral pattern on the the satin backing the lace. The colour is ivory, her dress has an internal corset and buttons and loops at the back. The fine…

Lace and silk crepe wedding dress for Melrose Wedding

Alice wanted a simple and organic feel to her wedding and to her dress. She chose a heavy silk crepe skirt with a long length bodice with ivory lace and a champagne cord. The dress had silk chiffon sleeves and lace scallop edges on the neckline and where the skirt and bodice joined. It laced up internally and was fastened with a concealed zip at the back. Alice wore her grandmother’s veil which we’d chosen the lace to match; it looked lovely and really finished off her whole outfit. The reception took place at the stunning Harmony House and Garden,…

Photo Shoot at Prestonfield House

On one lovely day last year, we had the great fortune of being allowed to go to Prestonfield House and use the gorgeous location for a Photoshoot. It was a fab team. We had Becky modeling, who we love and have used before, Emma Motion as the Make-up artist, and Kirsty Stroma  did the photography. As per usual Planet Flowers wowed us with stunning floristry, and Rene Walrus provided enough sparkle for a James Bond Movie. I hope you love the images.

Botanist Wedding in the Lake District

Clare had firm ideas that she wanted colour on her wedding dress. When i heard she was a botanist, i was sure we would have some flowers on her dress too. Clare decided for a guipore lace bodice, the lace was backed with a pale green taffeta. The skirt was a gored skirt with Silk Satin Chiffon overlay. Clare had a silk crepe belt with a big flower at the back and sashes from the flower. Clare’s wedding was going to be a relaxed outdoor affair. It was to be held in the garden at Low House in  The Eden…

Short Wedding Dress in Thai silk, Chantilly lace and Block colours

Lucy’s engagement was a very happy announcement. We had already worked with Lucy for her sister’s wedding a couple of years ago, so we were pleased to be called on again. The wedding was to be held in the Duddingston Kirk and the reception The Hub, Royal Mile. Lucy had decided for a short dress before she even contacted us. She had it made in pure Thai Silk Deluxe Douppion fabric, and she had ruching on the waist, deep pleats on the very full ballerina length skirt. She had the corset build in, which tied up below the fastening of…

Bridesmaid’s dresses with different necklines

Laura and Stephen had a beautiful September wedding in Dundas Castle. We knew we were in for a treat as we had a lot of our favorite wedding people involved, Planet Flowers, 21CC Fireworks, First Light Weddings Cup Couture. Laura had 4 bridesmaids, and all different shapes sizes and colouring  Laura decided for a lovely very sophisticated coffee colour. All the dresses had the same skirt shape and then different necklines to suit all their shapes. Laura chose a fine crystal embellishment to decorate the empire line. We could not believe the photographs when we saw them, such a lovely day, and so much…
