Lynda & Rory at Lennoxlove

Lynda has been a lovely bride to work with. She had firm ideas of what she wanted.. minimum bling… maximum sophistication.. I think you she looks so stunning on her wedding pictures from LennoxLove . Lynda went for a heavy duchesse silk satin dress in dark ivory. She had ruching detail on the front and off the shoulder neckline. The back was decorated with… 115 silk covered buttons and loops. Her dress had an internal corset. Lynda had a 2 tier cathedral silk veil, with a guipure lace edging. We also made Lynda’s bridesmaids dresses, she had 2 bridesmaids, her sister…

Sylvia and Alan

Sylvia and Alan were married at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh earlier in 2012. Opting for a graceful dress made in a light mocha douppion silk, Sylvia made a gorgeous bride! The calf-length dress was very flattering, with a wide cross-over neckline, three quarter length sleeves and ruching on one side of the waist. Intricate lace and crystal embellishments on her waist accentuated Sylvia’s figure, as did the subtle ruching. Hair accessories by Rene Walrus and hair styling by Brian Rafferty of the Marco Pelo Salon in Edinburgh were a lovely addition to Sylvia’s look for the day. The setting…

Blue-Bell Wedding dress

Here are some of the photos of Mairi’s wedding in May 2012 at Mar Hall in Bishopton! Mairi opted for an elegant midi-length gown with a v-shaped neckline and long sheer sleeves made from a beautiful blue-bell silk crepe-back satin with a chiffon changant overlay. The Freja team also made the groom’s tie from this same fabric! The sleeve detail was worked into Mairi’s dress from a favourite dress of her mother’s and the dress was fastened together at the back with a row of buttons. Mairi looked absolutely fantastic on her big day with her dress made by us here…

Fiona’s Guipore Lace Wedding Dress

Fiona’s May wedding was one of the very short notice weddings we have done. We made her a Guipore Lace Dress! Fiona and her husband to be was going to have a fairly small and intimate wedding with close friends and family, and their gorgeous 2 boys! She came in to see me after being recommended to come and see me from a few different people, which was very special to us and made up so keen to make her dress, she had a lovely idea of the silhouette she wanted, she was determined she wanted a slim fit dress,…

Elizabeth and Bruce at Dundas Castle

Elizabeth and Bruce got married at Dundas Castle on the 1st April 2012. Liz gave us a bit of a surprise when she came to see us to have her dress made. She was pregnant, and would be 22 weeks gone by the time of the wedding. We were very excited for the challenge of her dress and Liz had lots of initial ideas which made the design stage much easier. At first, I thought a lot about how Liz’s bodyshape would change quite quickly over the months leading to the wedding and how this would affect the fit of the dress.I…

Blue necklace inspired beauty!

A few years back the Freja team created a beautiful two-piece wedding outfit for Caroline for her wedding to Fergal at the Hub. On her special day, Caroline wanted to wear a sentimental blue jewel encrusted necklace and so was keen for her wedding attire to incorporate the colour of this special necklace in some way. She therefore opted for a beautiful design made from silk duchess satin in ivory and comprised of separates; an elegant bandeau top with an internal corset held together by button and loop fastenings and a long flowing skirt with a delicate train. In order…

Contemporary Dress for a Rock and Roll Bride!

Louise came to us in November 2010 with lots of ideas for her wedding in March 2012.She had planned to get married at the Vu in West Lothian, so we knew straight away that her dress would have to fit in with the modern rock and roll style of the venue. Louise’s one shouldered dress was made from a beautiful Polysatin in an asymmetric style with a long train for her grand entrance! She had an internal lace up inside the dress which gave her all the support she needed whilst being hidden by a concealed zip on the outside….

Gold beaded lace and Paisley patterned lambswool

Kerry contacted us last year. She had had us recommended from a lovely bride we had a few years ago, in fact, this bride was going to be maid of Honor at the wedding.  It is a real honor to be recommended from brides we have worked with years before. Kerry was so lovely; at her first appointment she brought in a few bits and pieces like her favorite broach a couple of tops and told me a bit about her love of crafts and hand worked details. We loved her ideas about her wedding as well, and how her…

Drumlanrig Photoshoot

One of the best days of 2011 was this perfect Autumn day in October.. we had planned a photoshoot in a stunning location, Drumlanrig Castle near Drumfries. We felt so fortunate to be allowed to go and photograph in such an amazing location.  We had a stunning model called Bambi, who had been to my shop a couple of times before the photoshoot to try on and let us adjust the dresses we had made her. Rosie Fraser Make-up and Princess Cut Bridal Hair by Charlene Wilson had both been to see her and the dresses, and we had been in regular contact, sending ideas back and…

Ruched chiffon and Guipore capped sleeves!

Laura and Andy got married at St. Phillips Church in Joppa. This is the same church as Laura’s grandparents, parents and sister got married in. They had the church full of friends and family and music. One of Laura and Andy’s friends had composed music especially for them to walk in to and it was played by a band made up of friends. They then took to the beach, got the photographs taken (wow it looks like abroad) and then to the Apex on the Grassmarket for the reception and lovely views. The stunning pictures are taken by Idil Sukan of Draw…
