Boho Style Wedding Dress

boho lace dress

For Tanya’s wedding we created this beautiful Boho style wedding dress. I was so happy when Tanya got in touch and ask us to make her wedding dress. I have known this wonderful young woman for many years, since she was a wee girl. She is the niece of my best friend. Tanya has even previously worked here at Freja Designer Dressmaking. She worked here a couple of hours after school years ago. She is so cool and I am so proud of the person she has grown into.   The Wedding Dress I was not surprised when she came…

Luxurious Duchesse Wedding Dress

side view of beautiful bespoke duchesse silk satin wedding dress with dropped sleeves

I know some of you went pretty crazy when you saw the photos of this luxurious duchesse silk wedding dress from the final fitting. What is not to love? Luxurious silk duchesse satin, hand worked lace embellishment, buttons on the back,  ruching details, off the shoulder sleeves, and POCKETS! And a stunning bride. We LOVED making it, and really enjoyed working with this bride. The dress itself has a structured boned bodice. This created a “shell like” base of a dress. We then draped the beautiful pure silk duchess satin on to that shell. Then on the front bodice we…

Lace Wedding Dress for Gosford House Wedding

beautiful bride in guipure lace with long sleeves and high neckline

We made a bespoke lace wedding dress for Elisa’s wedding which took place at the grand Gosford House. When Elisa first came into visit us she tried on some of our sample dresses to get a feel for what styles she might like. She did have in mind a design she wanted to have for her wedding. Soon after our first meeting Elisa told us some exciting news that she was actually pregnant! Knowing this we decided to begin on the process of making her wedding dress later. We started after she has her baby and closer to the date…

Vintage style maternity wedding dress

vintage style wedding dress in orissa silk

Vintage style maternity wedding dress What an absolute pleasure! To get to work on a wedding like this. Getting to glimpse other cultures and find again we are all the same and share similar values. Hailey contacted me about a year before her wedding; she told me in detail about all the exciting Jewish traditions they would include in the marriage. We had many ideas for her dress; Hailey had done a fantastic job of collecting images so I could see what she was looking for; there was not an actual dress, but necklines and fabric sleeve details. It was…

Vintage Feel Chantilly Dress

gorgeous wedding dress with Chantilly lace bodice and Mikado skirt

A Vintage Feel Chantilly Lace Dress for a Wedding at Newhall Estate This wedding was one I really wanted to be part of from the word go. Kirsty came with the ideas of a beautiful wedding dress that had lace details and a bit of a vintage feel to it. She chose a beautiful Chantilly lace which contrasted so well with the structure and texture of the skirt made of Zibeline. On the back of the dress, we then added belt bow and sashes in the same skirt fabric. We also added cover button detailing above the bow. The bodice…

Timeless Wedding Dress

the bride in her timeless wedding dress with the V-neck detail and pleated skirt

We were so delighted to be asked to be involved in this wedding. It’s a lovely family we have worked with a lot. It feels such an honour to be asked to create such important garments for a big family wedding. For this special day, we not only had the chance to make the bride’s dream wedding dress but also a piece for her mum and dresses for her bridesmaids. This wedding sadly had been swapped and changed many times due to covid. But it was all worth the hassle when it finally took place.    The Timeless Wedding Dress For…

Wedding at Edinburgh Castle

wedding photograph at Edinburgh castle, wrap style georgette dress

So wonderful to work with this bride for a wedding at Edinburgh Castle. Beautiful ideas for her Scottish wedding in Edinburgh. The wedding was planned for March. This essentially can be a pretty harsh month for any one of her guests visiting from Australia.  However everyone was still very keen to come and be part of this amazing day. The Dress We made this beautiful wedding dress for Josephine. The material is a georgette. This is semi-sheer and has a matte texture. We backed it with a lovely satin to make it opaque. The dress has big yet soft flowing sleeves…

Emerald Green Wedding Dress

Green silk wedding dress for a wedding in the Highlands

A Beautiful Emerald Green Wedding Dress made for a wedding set in the Scottish Highlands. I think this is one of the BEST briefs I have ever had for a wedding dress. This wedding took place in the beautiful Scottish Highlands which is known for its beautiful scenery. Emily came in with a list of ideas and a plan of having a private wedding in the hills with a celebrant, the other half, obviously! and then celebrant, nature and bikes! The couple were to cycle up the hills to the spot to get married, I loved that! They had focused…

Silk dress for New Zealand

silk dress with long detachable train

Silk dress for New Zealand It was such a joy making Aislinn’s bespoke wedding dress for her wedding in New Zealand. I have a soft spot for New Zealand and along with Aislinn just being the loveliest bride it made it one of my favourite projects ever. That dress! Aislinn had some lovely ideas when she came to us. She wanted a soft and very simple dress with a boat neckline and a low back. She wanted simple but still wanted to make some impact. Deciding for the silk crepe as her main fabric was perfect. It is so soft…
