Gorgeous lace dress for wedding and reception at Hopetoun House
I know I have said it before.. but we really just get the best brides.
I met Rachel at the Luxury Scottish wedding fayre, about 18 months before her wedding to Jack.
Rachel was working as a designer at Vivienne Westwood before her and Jack Got engaged. So really was looking to basically design her own dress and be involved in the process! This could have been a bit intimidating for me. However, Rachel is so lovely had has such lovely kind manner, we jumped at the opportunity. And it has really been the nicest experience.
Rachel made a beautiful sketch and was much involved in going through the different styles of lace to choose the perfect one for her vision. Along with this, we had to choose the different types of backing and layering for her dress. She really wanted a soft romantic feel to her dress.
I am so proud of the result we achieved together.
She chose a fine Chantilly lace with a corded floral design and we backed the dress with silk chiffon. We made lots and lots of little buttons down her back, and a lovely flattering neckline and deep cowl neck.
Jack looked so handsome in his uniform, as they had the wedding ceremony and reception at the stunning Hopetoun House, and beautiful floral arrangements from Planet flowers. Rachel collaborated Heathers Cakes to create her wonderful cake – because Rachel used to work as a designer, the cake was stood on an old sewing machine. It was lovely!
Although its no requirement at all to have a dress designed, it was such a pleasure to have a design interested bride to work with.
Alethiea de Pasquale was Rachel’s photographer, and we thank her so much for letting us share her work with you.
