Seafront Wedding at Ravensheugh Log Cabin

Spread the love

After already spending a large portion of their lives together, Lucy and her husband-to-be decided to have a seafront wedding at Ravensheugh Log Cabin in East Lothian. The sea-front venue, actually holds a special place in the couples heart as for a longtime it has been their favourite location for walking their dogs. The sentimental choice of location made for a beautiful, memorable day overlooking the ocean. Indeed, a day that they will remember forever.

The couple chose to make the day a special one, surrounded by friends and family. In addition, they even chose to have one of the brides school friend ordain the marriage. Our very own designer Mette – another close friend of the brides- even dressed the bride in an onsite camper van. This made for a chaotic and fun event due to the lack of space usually needed when getting ready for your wedding.

The wedding catering was done by Lucy herself, in addition to a hog roast from The Spotted Pig Company and wedding cake made by The Cake Kitchen. The day was also photographed by First light wedding photography. The brides hair was also done by Hair by JFK.

The view

Due to a smaller onsite car park, many of the guests had to park a while away from the venue. This allowed the guests to soak up the seaside rays. All-being whilst on their mile long walk to their seats. The walk built the tension and excitement for the day. But also allowed the guests to take in the beautiful views of Bass Rock, May Island and Firth of Forth.

Lucy said “the big thing for us was having a relaxed weekend with friends and family, and an outdoor wedding was really important”. Lucy’s seafront wedding truly achieved this goal.

About the Dress

Lucy wore an a-symmetric silk jersey gown in blue. The dress colour resembled that of the ocean. When designing the dress, Lucy provided a selection of couture gowns featuring soft structured dresses. Looking at her inspiration we decided to combine a few different qualities from each of the gowns. This made for a bespoke wedding dress that was suitable for a beautiful, seafront wedding in the woods.

Lucy said she felt amazing in her dress and also got many compliments. She liked that together her and Mette  “took a very simple idea and ran with it bringing in her expertise in cut and in drape”. In fact, she even went out of her way to source the perfect fabric. As a result, she said she “can’t recommend her (Mette) highly enough!”
