Short 50es style wedding dress for a stunning winter wedding at Carlowrie Castle.
Laurene knew pretty much exactly what she wanted when she visited us for the first time. She had loads of ideas and images with vintage and lace details. We very quickly moved on to make the real dress, and then we had to wait for a while for the wedding day to arrive, we as impatient as Laurene.
She spent the time organising so many DIY details for the wedding. I have rarely seen more beautiful stationery and she made her own cake and so many other things, so she and Chris’s day was so personal.
Her bespoke wedding dress was made in soft tulle and dupioni silk and then beaded hand-worked lace. She had internal lace up and covered buttons down the back.
Laurene’s headdress was made by Bridget Webster.
We also made the 3 pink bridesmaid dresses, we loved working with the 3 of them. They were really fun dresses to make with the woven damask pattern, the strong colour and the sloping hem. The dresses matched the most amazing Manola Blahnik shoes Laurene had chosen to wear with her dress.
