Wedding in Tivoli Copenhagen
A dream come true for me when we got to make Rachel’s bespoke wedding dress. The bride and groom love Denmark and Copenhagen, so the wedding was planned to be held in Tivoli Gardens. Rachel had no idea I am Danish, and in love with Tivoli Gardens. Too many coincidences… and it felt just right we should make Rachels dress.
The dress was to be inspired by the 1950es style wedding dress. I am a total fan of Dior’s New Look and that whole era, so I was very excited about it all.
Rachel chose a couple of different weights of Tulle to make the skirt textured. We had 6 layers of tulle, backed with crepe fabric, and then Rachel had a Hoop to keep the skirt out from her legs.
The sweetheart neckline bodice had boning and structure and little buttons and loops at the back. Rachel chose a beautiful lace, an embroidered tulle. The embroidery was a light champagne shade. The coloured thread gave another dimension to the lace.
Rachel had hunted high and low for her amazing duck egg blue Jimmy Choo’s. They match the dress so well and just completes the outfit.
The bride and groom had a small ceremony and dinner for their close family and friends.
Seeing the pictures made my day. I am pretty proud to say we have had a dress on the Tivoli Rollercoaster! what an achievement.
The next couple of days was spent by the bride and groom enjoying Copenhagen.
